Edinburgh venue admits unlawfully discriminating against Jewish comic
Morrison Bro's Limited, owner of Edinburgh venue Banshee Labyrinth, conceded at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on August 17, 2026, that canceling Philip Simon's 2025 Fringe show unlawfully discriminated against the Jewish comedian. Sheriff Roderick Flinn said the company's late concession was unreasonable and ordered expenses tied to preparations for the substantive hearing to be assessed at a higher rate.
